Our club President, Lesley, is already way ahead of us all and she got us a mention on the Chris Evans Radio Two show on Thursday 6th December 2012. We were the 4th in the Top Ten Tenuous for 'championing'.
 
2012

Our first mention for this year was on the Chris Evans Radio Two Breakfast Show on 9th January when Chris read out Lesley's email about how this would be special for her. She got married in the summer, but she listed Pooh Sticks above that!

And we appear to now have an annual spot on the Malcolm Boyden show on BBC Radio Oxford on the anniversary of the birth of A A Milne - 18th January. Karen did a short interview in the studio explaining the history of Pooh Sticks and the championships.
 
23rd March: Karen was interviewed by Anne Diamond on BBBC Radio Berkshire.
 
24th April: the winner of the individual championships, Aiden Eltham, appeared with his father on The One Show with Matt Baker and Alex Jones!!
 
The highlight of summer 2012 (after the Olympics and Paralympics of course) was our award from the BBC Countryfile magazine for being Britain's favourite quirky event. Read more about the award.
 
2011
March 2011: RADIO 2 - We were mentioned by Steve Wright and Graham Norton TWICE and Karen was interviewed by Simon Mayo after the event!
March 2011: We appeared on the BBC Oxford website within hours of announcing our winners!
March 2011: We were in the Wallingford Herald in advance of the 2011 competition.
March 2011: And there were some great photos in the Wallingford Herald on the Wednesday after the championships 
April 2011: There was uproar in the Oxford Mail when it was declared unsafe to use wooden sticks! That was the 1st April though.
